Part number: MH-STAR3 (M25H-STAR3)  ·  Conductors: 3, independently drivable  ·  Available in: 25 Series  ·  Print: ~3 hours (reflected in price)

The Star is divided into three sections vertically. Look at it end-on and it is a Mercedes-Benz symbol - three equal wedges running the length of the head, each on its own 4mm port.

25 Series only. Heads are series-locked: you get the head built for that shaft diameter, and it fits that series only. A 25 Series head will not go on a 32 Series shaft.

Star or Horizontal Egg?

Both are 3-conductor heads at the same price, and the difference is which way the zones are split.

The Triple Horizontal Egg stacks its zones along the probe - base, middle, tip - so a channel runs lengthwise, front to back.

The Star splits its zones around the probe - three wedges side by side - so a channel can run across it instead, and which wedge is facing your prostate is now something you choose. Rotate the probe and the same wiring lands somewhere different.

Some ways to run it

Wedge to ring. Take a channel from one wedge out to a ring - a tip ring like the Pinnacle, or a shaft ring like The One. That is the one to start with: you want the current flowing through the prostate, not just near it, and sending a channel out to a ring is what makes it cross.

Two wedges, two channels. Run the Pinnacle's corona side to one wedge and its frenulum side to another, and you have two channels down the shaft converging inside.

The third wedge goes to a perineum pad or the probe base.

Wedge to wedge keeps the current inside the head. It works and it is sharp, but it runs beside the prostate rather than through it - worth trying, not where I would start.

A Switch 1 is a natural fit here: it lets you move between wedges mid-session without unplugging anything, and the A+B centre position changes the surface area of the head.

Cables - read this before you order

Clearance in the head is tight: the cable head has to be 8mm or under. If you already have 4mm cables, measure them first. Nothing is worse than a new head and the wires do not fit.

Running multiple wedges means a cable per channel. A 90/straight covers a channel from the head out to a ring - straight end in the head, 90 on the ring. Add a straight/straight to run two wedges against each other, or to feed a Switch 1, whose input has to be straight. 2.5mm ends if you are on a Coyote, 3.5mm for most other boxes.

Details

Three M2×40 screw holes - one per port; each installed screw cuts that connection's resistance about 30% and strengthens the neck. Locks into its shaft with a 90° PlaLok™ turn - check the lock indicator before use.

Care: consumable part - inspect before every use, disassemble to clean with warm water and dish soap, and follow the Care and Safety Instructions.
