Part: ME-CAL · Range: 0–56mm (standard), 8–190mm (length), 0–88mm (optional XL beam) · Reads to: 0.5mm
Every caliper measures metal well. Soft tissue is different: it reads whatever you squeeze it to. Press a little harder and you lose 2, 5, even 10mm; measure again and you get a different reading. The PlaStim Caliper fixes it with a built-in touch indicator, so every reading is taken at the same light force.
The touch indicator: how it works
The moving jaw is not fixed to the carriage. It hangs on two thin parallel leaves, a small spring flexure, so it can only move straight in and out. A finger on the carriage sits in a notch in the jaw's base, and each carries a line.
- Close the caliper with your thumb on the ribbed straps. When the jaw meets the skin it stops, while the carriage keeps moving and bends the leaves.
- Keep closing until the line on the finger meets the line on the jaw's base. At that point the flexure has moved 1.0mm, and the jaw is pressing with about 1 N (roughly 100 grams).
- Read the scale there. Same lines, same force, every reading, whoever is holding it.
- The finger is also a hard stop: it cannot be pushed far enough to overload or break the leaves.
The 1 N figure is calculated from the flexure's design; what matters for sizing is that it is the same every time.
What you get
- The carriage with the touch indicator. One carriage fits every beam.
- Standard beam, 0–56mm: widths and depths.
- Length beam, 8–190mm: no fixed jaw. A landing pad sits against the pubic bone and the carriage comes down to the tip, so lengths are measured from a fixed point instead of a guess.
- Optional XL beam, 0–88mm (+$1): for larger widths.
Do you need the XL beam?
Probably not, don't feel bad. The XL beam is only needed if you measure over 56mm (2.2in) wide. Fewer than 0.001% of men (roughly 1 in 250,000) have an erect penis width (diameter) over 2.2 inches. The standard beam covers everyone else, but the XL could be useful for other things.
Reading it
- One row of blocks: 1mm of mark, 1mm of gap, so every block edge is a whole millimetre. Every 10 has a longer block with its number.
- The pointer is one straight edge. On a block edge = a whole millimetre; halfway along a block or gap = the half.
- A "place here" line across both jaws: put what you measure on it each time.
- Check it with a bank card (85.60 x 53.98mm): close on the card and the pointer should cut the diamond mark in half.
Turn your numbers into a ring size
Enter your width and depth in the Ring Sizing calculator. Pick the ring you are sizing for and it tells you which size (and shape) to order.
Print it yourself
Pick Step Files Only and the order is no charge, with every option included: the STEP files for the carriage and all three beams, in two-colour and one-colour versions. PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.20mm layers, no supports, every part flat as modelled. The length beam is 274.6mm long: flat on a 330 x 320 bed, or corner to corner on a 256 x 256 bed.
